Conference themes and subthemes
Aside from hearing from national and international experts in trauma-aware education during keynote addresses, we are also keen to hear from education leaders, practitioners and researchers.
We are keen to hear about trauma-aware thinking and practice in:
- First Nations education
- Rural and remote education
- Higher education
- Alternative education (including Youth Detention Centres)
- Education systems
We are keen for individuals or teams to share successful trauma-aware models that work for:
- Early childhood education and care
- Primary schooling
- Secondary schooling
- Alternative settings
- Higher education
We are also interested in:
- Supporting staff and workforce well-being
- Animal-assisted support for trauma-impacted learners
- Messages from trauma survivors to education providers
- Hearing the latest from national and international research
- Higher Degrees Research projects
- Progressing systemic trauma-aware education in states and territories across Australia
We have limited spots available for presentations over the three days of our conference.
There are four options for presentations.
- 45-minute presentation (plus 5-minutes Q&A)
- 45-minute workshop (involving interactive activity) (plus 5-minutes Q&A)
- 20-minute research presentation (plus 5-minutes Q&A)
- 10-minute presentation of your Higher Degrees Research Project (Ph.D, Ed.D, M.Phil) during our HDR Lightening Session (max. 2 PowerPoint slides, no Q&A)
